Prompted to paint a still life in the style of a famous painter, I chose American illustrator J.C. Leyendecker. Prior to painting, I accumulated references to assist in my understanding of Leyendecker's style. I additionally chose subject matter for this still life in line with the content of Leyendecker's paintings.
